We all know the ways in which drinking water helps nourish our bodies. I can personally attest to the fact that drinking more water helps keep my skin clear and hydrated, makes me feel more awake, and helps suppress my appetite. However, even knowing all of this, I still found it hard to drink the recommended 8 glasses of water a day. I wasn’t drinking a lot of water at work because I’m really picky…I hate drinking water that is room temperature. Don’t ask me why. So, sitting in my office freezing in the winter due to the cold and freezing in the summer because the ac was cranked, I wasn’t exactly jumping up to go pour myself some ice cold water to guzzle. So…I started drinking hot water. Yup, when I’m cold, instead of just not drinking water, I make myself a nice cup of hot water. Sometimes I add a little lemon juice to the water, but most times I drink it plain.
For me, I’ve found that when I’m hot I’m constantly getting up to get more cold water to cool me down. Similarly, when I’m cold, I’m not constantly filling my mug with hot water to warm me up. Who needs AC or a blanket? Not me, I just need some water.
I also find drinking from a straw helps me drink more water. I don’t know why, it just does.
How do you get your eight glasses in?
