Going…going…Gone Crazy!

Heeeeeere’s Johnny!

Yup, I’m going crazy.  Between the cold and the snow, I’ve been stuck…inside…for a looong time.  You know what the average temperature in Buffalo was for February?  11.1 degrees.  Burr!  That is just too effin cold for me!  Wind chills have been in the negative teens making it impossible to be outside for any length of time.  AND we recently surpassed the 100″ of snow for the season.  It feels like it has snowed every day.  The roads have been so slushy we haven’t been able to go anywhere.  So, I’ve been stuck in the house, going out only to go back and forth to work.  Lucky me.   You see all these pins and blogs about things to do when you’re stuck inside on a snow day.  Well, those things are good for a day, maybe a week, but it has been snowing since NOVEMBER.  I have been “stuck” inside since November.

As a result of being stuck, I lost it Saturday.  It was a scene right out of The Shining except I didn’t try to kill anyone.  I told Mike I NEEDED to do something.  He asked me what I wanted to do and I almost bit his head off.  Oops.  It just stinks because its cold and yucky out so I had no motivation to do anything.  I just wanted to stay in my sweats on the couch all day watching movies.  However, I knew if I sat on that couch for one more day, I was going to snap.  I could have cleaned out my closet.  I could have organized our tupperware drawer.  There were so many things that I could have done inside, but it was too late.  I was already in a deep state of miserable psychosis.  So, what did we do Saturday night?  We stayed in and watched The Blacklist on Netflix.  Luckily, I really liked the show so Mike and Leo are still alive.  It was touch and go there for awhile though.

After getting my hissy fit out of the way Saturday, I dragged my butt out of the house on Sunday.  I went grocery shopping, got a haircut, and joined the gym.  What better way to shake yourself out of a miserable state than with a makeover.  Then, Mike and I drove into the city and met some friends for wings, beer, and darts.  It was just what I needed.  Should be enough to keep me from coming at Mike and Leo with an ax for awhile anyway.  I hear Spring is just 21 days away.  It can’t get here soon enough.  I just hope it doesn’t come in like a lion.  I’m not sure I could handle it.

How are you coping this winter?
