I must have been a very good girl this year because Santa was very good to me. I got this beautiful new laptop I’m typing on, lots of nice clothes, some nail polishes, candles, movies, and so many more generous gifts. The holidays aren’t about getting though, they’re about giving. Stay tuned to find out what I gave to Mike for our first Christmas as a married couple.
Mike and I actually hosted his family at our house on Christmas day. His sister and I had more fun than should probably be allowed when cooking Christmas dinner. I’m sure it was quite entertaining, but regardless, the food turned out just fine. I also did a whole hot chocolate bar complete with my Homemade Bailey’s. You can find my recipe here:
The day after Christmas we loaded up the car and headed over the river and through the woods to my parents’ house where we celebrated Christmas my parents, sister, and brother. Then it was off to my nana’s for Christmas with the whole gang. I have a big family. My mom is the oldest of seven and I am the oldest of 20+cousins. There were over 40 people at my nana’s for Christmas. It was utter chaos, but I loved every minute of it.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I won’t bore you with my NYE plans (we went to a nice dinner and then to a brewery in downtown Buffalo to bring in the new year), but I will tell you about my New Year resolutions. So here they are:
- Get up early – the earlier I get up, the more I can accomplish. Today, for instance, I was able to go to the gym, eat breakfast, and post my blog, all before going in to work.
- Church – I’m going to do it. I am going to get in the habit of going to church. I think twice a month is a realistic goal.
- Organization – Mike and I have hectic schedules. It has been so hard to keep track of everything. So, I have started using a planner and this weekend I’m going shopping for home decor/organization material. Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to take pictures of how everything in the house turns out.
I hope you all had as wonderful of a holiday as I did. I know I am truly looking forward to what 2016 holds and I hope you are too.
