Last week I went with Mike and some of his friends to an OAR concert at Artpark, an outdoor concert venue in Lewiston, New York. Now, I am not an OAR fan. It isn’t that I don’t like their music, I just never really got into them. In fact, the first year I went with Mike to see them at Artpark I was miserable. I had gone to the concert with an empty stomach, I didn’t really know the music, and the smell of pot was so overwhelming it made me sick. Not enjoyable. In fact, it was so un-enjoyable, that I didn’t go with Mike to see them for another two years.
This year, however, I decided I would try again. I mean, you know how much I love outdoor concerts. I don’t know if you have ever been to Lewiston, but if you haven’t, you should go. It is a quaint town that overlooks the Niagara River. There are some beautiful views and lots of places to shop, eat and drink. So, that is what we did before the concert. I wasn’t about to make the same mistake twice. As soon as we got to Lewiston, we made our way to the Brickyard for some beers and bbq. We got a nice table outside on the patio and stuffed ourselves good.
Then we made our way to the actual concert venue. Artpark is really a cool venue. There isn’t really a bad seat. Take a look at the pictures. There was a guy there dressed as Waldo. See if you can find him.
Anyway, the concert itself was pretty good too. Like I said, not really my kind of music, but I still danced along and sang the few songs that I did know. The smell of pot in the air wasn’t nearly as potent this year and I really had an enjoyable experience. I’ll definitely be doing it again next year.
