Spring has Sprung

This weekend was GREAT!  Friday I skipped out of work 10 mins. early in order to make Mike’s softball game.  He played and Leo and I watched and walked around the park.  Afterwards we had a beer and a hamburger.  They hit the spot!  What a perfect spring night!

Saturday I got up and ran 7 miles.  This is the farthest I’ve run so far and I have the 1/2 marathon coming up in a few weeks.  I have NOT been following my training plan.  Oops.  But seriously, I have been very busy with work and planning this whole wedding thing.  Anyways though, the run felt great.  My knees were killing me towards the end, but overall, I felt really good.

When I got home from my run, it was time to start the yard work.  I had a lot of not-so-nice things to say to those dandelions popping up in my flower beds.  Then, once the beds were clear, I put out all of the patio furniture and got it all set up and wiped down.  I can’t wait to start having fires  in our new fire pit.

Saturday night was spent playing Cards Against Humanity with friends.  If you haven’t played, I highly suggest it.  It is wildly inappropriate, but it is hilarious.

Sunday morning was spent wedding planning for my girlfriends wedding in August.  Have I mentioned I have 7 weddings this summer, not including my own?  Yeah…lots of wedding stuff this year.  After wedding planning though, it was time to mulch.  We took a break from mulching to go buy some flowers and some more mulch.  Joy.  Then it was back to mulching.  Once the mulching was done, I went for a short 2 mile run to shake the lactic acid out of my legs.  It didn’t work.  It was still a nice run though.  Afterwards I rewarded myself with a nice long shower and a couple glasses of chilled white wine on the patio.  I had this this California White Wine courtesy of Club W.  It was light and crisp and smooth.  It was neither dry nor sweet.  It was just right!  *sigh*  What a great, productive weekend.  We are officially ready for summer!  Are you?
